Our Journey Since 2009

Ismail PharmaChem started in 2009 with a simple intention: to build a business around the pharmaceutical raw materials and chemicals needed in Bangladesh.

Like many businesses, we did not build everything at once. The business grew gradually, through day-to-day work, customer requirements and the relationships we developed along the way.

In the beginning, much of the work was about understanding what a customer was actually looking for and then finding out where that product could be sourced. Sometimes the requirement was straightforward. Sometimes it took more time to identify a suitable source, discuss the details with suppliers and understand whether the available product matched what was needed.

That experience became an important part of our business.

As we continued working, we started dealing with suppliers and sources from different countries. China, India, South Korea, Singapore, the USA and other international markets became part of our sourcing activities, depending on the product and the requirement.

Every product enquiry brought something different. A new specification could mean speaking with a different supplier. A particular quantity could change the sourcing options. A preferred country of origin could lead us in another direction. Over time, these everyday situations gave us a much better understanding of how international sourcing works in practice.

There were also lessons that cannot be learned simply by looking at a product list. Good communication matters. Details matter. A clear understanding of what the customer needs matters. And sometimes, finding the right source takes patience.

Looking back, our history is really a collection of many small steps rather than one big moment. It is the experience of understanding one requirement after another, speaking with suppliers, solving practical sourcing issues and learning from the work itself.

The market has changed since 2009, and customer expectations have changed with it. We have changed and learned along the way too. But the basic idea behind our business remains the same: listen carefully, understand the requirement and find a practical way forward.

That is what has carried Ismail PharmaChem from 2009 to today.
